What is Botshop?
Botshop is one of the several workshops that Cal Poly IEEE hosts during the school year. Working with the Cal Poly Robotics Club, participants attend three consecutive Saturdays of events to construct and program a robot to navigate different paths.
Why does Botshop benefit the attendee?
Botshop is a great way to be able to learn about many engineering disciplines in the span of 3 days of events. Participants are able to get a grasp on the mechanical aspect of engineering by constructing the robot itself, as well as the software aspect of engineering by programming an Arduino to allow the robot to understand where it needs to go and what it needs to do.
Why is it so cool and why should people come?
Whether you are a person with incredible hardware and/or software knowledge or just someone who wants to get a taste of engineering, Botshop is a great way to enhance your knowledge, experience, and comfort in the field. Participants who are trying to understand the basics are able to get support from officers volunteering or other peers nearby. Together, IEEE and Robotics Club are creating an encouraging and fun environment for participants to engage in our activities, and ultimately, learn by doing.
Botshop is fun, it will be a great learning experience, you will get the opportunity to meet new peers and make new friends, and so much more. Come attend Botshop.
